For those of you here in North Carolina, I thought I would provide a simple tutorial for how to find YOUR Sample Ballot online.
Step 1: Go to the NC State Board of Elections Voter search page
https://vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/
Step 2: Type in your 1st and last name in the fields provided and click search. Note, if you have a common name like John Smith, you will get lots of hits from your search. If you want it to go quicker, input other fields like your middle initial, county you reside in, etc.
Step 3: Once the results are displayed, select your ACTIVE Voter Registration to launch your Voter Info Page.

Step 4: Once your info page is displayed, scroll down to ‘SAMPLE BALLOTS’ and you will see a code like ‘D002’ or ‘R001’ or something similar over on the right hand side. These are ballot ID’s for your county. Once you click on the Ballot ID number, your actual ballot will be displayed in a PDF format. The exact same ballot you will be handed when you go to vote. These individual ballots will have all the races of the current election, along with any BOND Referendum that your area may have, all your local items like school boards, etc.

I will urge all of my readers to go get your own sample ballot. Print it out, then go THOROUGHLY Research each candidate / issue — on every single race and section on the ballot.
This will make you a well informed voter when you head to the polls starting next week. PLUS, it will save you valuable time when casting your ballot… because you’re already familiar with it.
