Senators Mike Lee (R-Utah), Paul Rand (R-Ky) and others had agreed to meet with a group of US Citizens. Sen. Lee had scheduled one of the hearing rooms in the Russell Senate building there on Capital Hill for this meeting on Thursday November 17, 2011 at 2:00pm. The meeting was also scheduled to be broadcast to the American people via C-SPAN.
FreedomWorks alerted their folks of the scheduled date & time. Citizens then made plans to get to DC for this meeting.
Fast forward to yesterday, Thursday November 17, just a few minutes before the meeting was scheduled to begin— Harry Reid & Charles Schumer popped up and said they couldn’t hold their meeting there. WHY??? Because the Democrats don’t want to hear “SOLUTIONS to the Problems” from the American People and they sure as hell don’t want it BROADCAST to the American People. Senator Mike Lee, who spearheaded this meeting from the Senate standpoint was OUTRAGED! but this ‘Curveball’ thrown by the Democrats didn’t stop our Underdogs…NO SIR, Mike scrambled and moved the meeting OFF OF THE HILL where the Senate Leadership(DemocRATS) had no Control.

The TEA Party Debt Commission showed Senators Lee, Paul, and others “Their Plan” to Cut over 9 Trillion Dollars from the debt!

We were there. Five of our local leaders/volunteers made the trip to join between 150 and 200 others to present the TEA Party Debt reduction plan. It was amazing, the plan is strong, but it would probably scare the crap of the entrenched “politicians” in DC by threatening their power. But, even more, our treatment by the US Senate Rules Committee was a travesty. First, there appeared to be a trumped up effort to abort our meeting with a bogus “suspicious package” issue, then, when that didn’t work, they ran us out over what they had decided was an error in our meeting plan. How could that, if true, not have been caught within the two weeks we had the room scheduled?
We have also called Sen. Alexander’s and Sen. Schumer’s offices today to voice our dissatisfaction with our treatment by the Senate Rules Committee staffers. I would suggest that if you support our cause that you should do the same. Their numbers are:
