Obama Campaign Joins in Lawsuit to Disenfranchise Military Voters in Ohio

The Obama for America Campaign has joined with the National Democratic Committee and the Ohio Democratic Party to strike down part of an Ohio law that allows members of the military three extra days to vote during early voting.
Funny, don’t you think? Almost any other group that wanted extra time to vote would be supported and defended by the left. By now the liberal activists would have started in on the hate rhetoric calling anyone who would disagree, a racist and bigot. So you ask, why the difference in Ohio? This time the demographic is the military, the men and women who fight to defend our liberty and whose veterans favor Romney over Obama by 59 percent to 35 percent according to a July 22, Rasmussen Poll.
We shouldn’t be surprised by this move. President Obama’s Justice Department, led by Eric Holder, now leads the fight against states seeking to guard against voter fraud. In March, they blocked a new Texas’ voter ID law and in December 2011 they stopped South Carolina in their effort to secure the vote.
In the matter of voter photo ID, Holder has thumbed his nose at the United States Supreme Court. While Holder continues to liken a voter ID requirement to a poll tax, in April 2008 the U.S. Supreme Court, in a 6-3 decision rejected that allegation when it upheld Indiana’s strict voter ID Law. In the decision, Justice Stevens concluded that “Each of Indiana’s asserted interests is unquestionably relevant to its interest in protecting the integrity and reliability of the electoral process.”
Up until now, Attorney General Holder and President Obama have been obstructing individual state’s efforts to protect the integrity of the vote in their elections. But, in Ohio their actions have become (if it is possible) even more dangerous – they are again stepping on a state’s authority to administer their own elections, but this time they have added a new target – the military.
